Help SMI Fix Their Gym

St. Mary Immaculate Parish and School in Plainfield, Illinois is in need of major repairs to their gymnasium. It has been 23 years since we rebuilt our great school after it was completely destroyed by an EF5 tornado in 1990.

The school gymnasium is a wonderful place of gathering for athletic events, school plays and musicals, parish masses, Sunday hospitality, Lenten Fish Frys, and a host of other worthwhile activities and events that help make St. Mary Immaculate the positive and thriving community it is. Over the years, our gym has been used constantly by the Parish and the School and is in need of renewal. Being one of the largest Catholics Parishes in the country and having one of the largest schools in our diocese, our facilities are under daily stress from overuse. We are looking for help in funding this project so that we do not have to dip into accounts that are budgeted for the essential ministries and work of our Parish life. The gym floor, bleachers, wall padding, and basketball hoops have come to the end of their useful life.  We have a vast and thriving athletics program at our Parish School. We owe it to our current and future students to provide for them the best possible areas for them to thrive physically, academically, and spiritually.

This necessary and worthwhile project is ONLY possible through the kind and generous giving of friends, family, and our great community. With your support we can provide a safer athletic environment for our students and a more comfortable space for our huge and growing parish.
