SLE Human Chain 2016 Aerial Banner

$3,100 of $3,000 goal

WORLD ANIMAL DAY - Sunday 9 OCTOBER is fast approaching, and that means our annual Human Chain bridge event!

Last year we hired a plane with an air banner to fly up and down the coast on that Sunday morning, culminating in a fly over of the Stirling Traffic Bridge, and it was a big hit. Pilot Brian form Air Ads even threw in some extra fly pasts up and down the coast over popular beaches for free... we think it was money well spent which is why we're asking you to chip in again this year.

Leading up to the Human Chain, we're also taking out ads in all the Community papers in an effort to get more people on the bridge than we have ever had before (1,200 in 2012).

Will YOU be part of history and donate just $5, or however much you can afford, towards realising this vision - IMAGINE 2,000 (or more) people joining hands in opposition to live animal exports, on the very bridge which has seen tens of millions of sheep and cattle cross it on the way to Fremantle Port and shipped on to horrific handling and slaughter in foreign countries.

Who joins us on the bridge every year and why? Everyone who opposes animal cruelty. Watch the Human Chain 2013 video .

Stop Live Exports is a Fremantle-based, incorporated, community organisation that was formed as People Against Cruelty in Animal Transport (PACAT) in the mid nineties and has been campaigning tirelessly against this trade for over two decades now - dispelling the myths, raising awareness and informing the uninformed, pressuring the politicians, bringing together those opposed to the trade at rallies and protests several times every year, monitoring the trucks and loading, and perpetually commenting in the media.

Thank you so so much everyone who donated to this campaign - what a weight off! This completely covers the cost of the aerial banner and the half page colour ad and article in local community papers that were published last Saturday and reached thousands of readers.

Look UP between 10.00 AM and midday and we hope to see it fly over the bridge at about 11.30AM.

With sincere gratitude from all of us at Stop Live Exports - hope to see you on the bridge... for the animals!

Wow! So very nearly at $2000!

Thank you to all who have donated to this campaign already - it eases our financial burden considerably, but we still have about $1000 left of Community Paper advertising bill - please share the campaign with your friends, particularly if you know they are coming to the Human Chain!

I can't think of a more cowardly action than to force animals to endure the kind of suffering and death that contravenes all animal welfare laws of the country they were born in. Farmers and politicians who support this vile trade are despicable beyond description!
