Miryana's dream to walk

Miryana, a little angel, who's smart enough to surprise you and make you laugh from the bottom of your heart!

Miryana is a 4 years old girl with cerebral palsy; she was diagnosed with it when she was only one year old!

Miryana's mother, Lina Abu-Samha noticed that Miryana wasn’t as active as her twin brother Jafar, so she followed up with Miryana’s doctors to find out she has cerebral palsy! Miryana and her twin brother Jafar were born on June 27th 2013. Due to being diagnosed with Celebral Palsy, Miryana can’t walk independently without her walker!

The stiffness and tightness in her legs don’t allow her to carry her own weight without the help of her walker.

Miryana’s mother could not find a proper treatment for Miryana’s case in Jordan and the Middle East.

Miryana’s mother started looking globally for a treatment, and she finally found what she’s looking for! (Alhamdulillah)

A surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), done by the pioneering pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. TS Parks at St. Louis, Missouri

SDR surgery will give Miryana the opportunity to walk independently! The success rate for this surgery is promising, and the success stories lifted our hopes up high! Sadly, the cost of the operation is too high. Trying to find a solution, Miryana’s mother decided to write a story about her daughter and her two brothers Jafar and Mustafa to help raise awareness about kids with special needs!

The story “Let’s Fly Home” was created! A colorful storybook telling the story of Miryana, and changing the perception of kids with special needs, targeting kids aged 4+

The book was printed and distributed for sale in selected sales points, and the proceeds will go to fund Miryana’s surgery! You can check out story from our Facebook page (سنطير إلى البيت - Let's fly home).

The cost of the surgery is still too high and selling the books alone won’t be enough to fund it.

Miryana’s mom created this campaign to raise more funds for the surgery.
