Swift Boat Sailors Memorial

Donation protected

For some, memories of the Vietnam War are slowly being relegated to history.  For others, they are as fresh as the day they happened.  The willingness of our veterans to sacrifice physically and emotionally for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.  Help us to ensure the history of our Swift Boat Sailors will never be forgotten by clicking the “Donate Now” button.

The Swift Boat Sailors Memorial project is designed to honor the memory of Swift Boat Sailors and their Legacies in a manner that is informative, accurate & interesting.  Our museum exhibit honors the 50 Swift Boat Sailors who died during their time in country.  These men are said to be “Still on Patrol” and can be seen in the above video.  The Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia will be the first to host the mobile exhibit starting in May, 2015.

The heart of the Swift Boat Sailors Memorial is our website which will include collections of images and videos donated by Swift Boat Sailors (many of which have never been viewed publicly before).  Currently we have over 2,000 photographs!  We are on our way to being the largest repository of all things related to Swift Boat service in the Vietnam War.  It will also include virtual exhibits such as:

·         Swift Boat Sailors “Still on Patrol”
·         Rear Admiral Roy F. Hoffmann, “Latch”
·         Bases
·         Malta Magnificent Seven
·         Oral Histories
·         Patrol Craft Fast (Swift Boats)
·         PCF 816
·         Print, Art & Media (Including 90+ articles from Stars & Stripes)
·         Roster of Swift Boat Sailors
·         Swift Boat Crew and Responsibilities
·         Videos

We look forward to the start of our documentary in 2015!

There are two ways to help make this project a success.  You can donate directly on this website by clicking “Donate Now” and using your credit/debit card in a secured manner.  Notice we have some great reward levels you can choose from while supplies last!  You can also donate by sending a check.  Checks should be made to the Virginia War Memorial Educational Foundation and sent to VWM c/o Ako Nagahama, 621 S.
