ROW for RWANDA!

Donation protected
Team ROW for RWANDA want to build a dedicated residential building at ASFA Physiotherapy Centre, Muganza, South Province, Rwanda where disabled children can stay, with their carers,  for short-term inpatient treatment.

The current 7-bed inpatient room at ASFA is extremely cramped. We want to build a separate space where there is enough room for everyone to rest comfortably so that rehabilitation can continue in and outside the main treatment rooms in a warm, friendly environment.

Kate Hunt, Jette Jakobsen and Alison Hawksley helped start ASFA Physiotherapy in 2014 and together with Kophy Wilson, Justine Vaughan, Sasha Badrock, Katherine Riggs,  Anne Burnett, Maria Hughes, Jennie Howard, Coral Allen, Mags Close, Hannah Bourne, Alina Gerrie, Cecilia Ezaz-Nikpay, Jo Patience and Christabel Allen will ROW for RWANDA in a dragon boat on Saturday 9th September 2017 in the 2017 Great River Race - a 34km boat race for man powered craft from London Docklands to Ham (Surrey).

Our target is to raise £20,000 and if we do,  an anonymous donor will match fund us pound for pound! This would enable us to start building this year - total build cost approx £40,000 inc furnishings. The funds will go directly to Les Sœurs Pénitentes de Saint François d'Assise au Rwanda, a Rwandan order of sisters who are our partners in Rwanda and manage ASFA Centre on a daily basis.  The sisters work exclusively in disability, health, education and nutritional education in poor communities throughout Rwanda and operate guest accommodation and catering to help support these activities. They do a fabulous job and are an inspiration to us all.

Thank you very, very much for reading our story and, if you can, please join us in building this special inpatient facility that would help deliver an improved level of care and comfort for some wonderful young children who just need a little helping hand in life.

Murakoze neza!
