Rosy's Story
On the January 1st, 2008, our first baby daughter Rosy was born. She was in a good health, lots of energy. She start to stand up by herself in 9 months. We celebrated her first birthday with family and friends.

My husband and I spent one great year with Rosy.

Unfortunately on January 29, 2009 Rosy start to vomit. We were thinking that it was normal. Family would say, "she is teething."

Then came the fever, we went to the doctor, he said it was probably an ear infection. After 10 days of antibiotics the situation became worse.

On March 7, her doctor told us we should go into the emergency room right away because Rosy had lost too much weight: 2 kgs.

We went at the Montreal Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with a huge brain tumour, a grade three ependymoma.

She had a first surgery to put in the shunt. Then a a second surgery to completely remove the tumour. We stayed in the hospital for two months.

Then Rosy had 33 days of radiation. Rosy could not pronuounce any words. She cannot move herself, and cannot stand up. After 3 and half years olds Rosy start to walk but have balance control problem.

My husband and I believed that the tumour will never return, unfortunately it came back after five years, in 2013. Rosy had another surgery on March 25, 2014. Again she had radiation, one strong dose at a time. Then the Oncology Team told us that in the future she cannot have radiation because she has already had all the doses that are safe.

Again we have positive thoughts that the tumour will not come back.

Rosy is a strong girl she is always positive and she gives us hope and joy.

In January 2015, the tumour recurred
Rosy was diagnosed for brain cancer Ependymoma grade 3 at the age of 14 months. 5 surgeries, Radiotherapy, chemo . Last surgery was on 27th of November 2016. Since then she cannot walk, tracheostomy and ventilation at night and Feeding tube. Recurred in April this year and Doctors suggest Paliative care. Since September her condition became wrose. She sleeps all the time and cannot open her eyes. She is at home and I am taking care 24 hrs . She is comfortable and the Paliative nurse and Doctors come at home . Even if she Doctors says she has weeks to live We are still waiting for a miracle to happened. We need prayers and help to pay for medication which is not covered and her feeding diapers etc Thanks you.

Ma plus vieille est agee de 9 ans elle est nee le 1er javier 2008 elle s'appelle Rosy Bains. Rosy avait 14 mois  lorsque on a appris qu'elle avait une tumeur au cerveau.
Les medecins de l'hopital de Montreal pour enfants l'ont operee deux fois pour enlever la tumeur en 2009.
En 2014, ils ont du operer de nouveau, puis deux fois en 2015 et nov 2016.
Malgre, la tumeur est revenue en force. C'est une tumeur qui est dans un endroit qui est le plus important pour le controle de toutes nos fonctions. Depuis septembre 2017 Rosy va de pire de pire. Une hypoventilation centrale et un dysfonctionnement des cordes vocales que necessite le soutien de sa ventilation au moyen d'une tracheotomie mecanique de nuit.
Rosy est suivie conjointement par l'equipe de soins complexes et l'equipe de soins palliatifs .
Je fais appel a la generosité des gens . Les dons amasser servent a payer les medicaments qui ne sont pas convert.  Des couches et des lingette car Rosy est en soins palliatifs  a domicile parcequ'elle ne voulait pu aller a hopital.  Je respecter sa decision.
Les sous servent aussi a payer les facteur ,epiciere.
Chaque dons peu importe le montant, nous aideront de garder Rosy avec nous dans son environment.  Je encore remplie d'espoir a un miracle. ON a besoin aussi beaucoup priere .
