Becky Britton  THE COLONY, TX
As many of you know, Rob has a rare form of cancer, NET carcinoma with mets to his liver and just recently, a few small spots found in his bones. He has been working for the past 15+ years taking care of his two daughters and is the sole breadwinner of this sweet family.

Things aren't going so well for him lately. With a severe colon infection and being on the chemo, he's lost even more weight, is very weak and in a lot of pain. We desperatly need some help. His wife (me) has been able to stay home with our two daughters to take care of him while he still maintained his job working from home but now that he's so weak, he's been unable to work. Things are such that I need to stay home to take care of him while he's going through this new round of treatment but things have taken a turn. With his medical expenses mounting, our income cut and no savings, we are struggling to make ends meet.

He's in the hospital at the moment because of the dehydration, severe infection and to get nutrients that he was unable to obtain while at home and things at home are stressful. Our girls are 12 and 15 and both are experiencing anxiety and worry.

We can't cure cancer (yet) but we can certainly make a difference in those whose lives we cross.

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!

I can't begin to express how grateful I am to everyone who has helped us during this time in our lives. They donations will be very helpful and go to help our Band of Brittons, there is no doubt about that but more than the monetary value, I want to tell each one of you how thankful and humbled I am for the thought behind the gift. Your help has helped us lighten the load off our shoulders.
This time has been difficult for us but just knowing that we have your support has been tremendously helpful. Know that I will never forget your kind words, your support and love, and should you ever wish or need to get hold of me in any way for anything, I would love it.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you. <3

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
And for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come this far without you
So for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

I want to thank you
For so many gifts
You gave with love and tenderness
I want to thank you

I want to thank you
For your generosity
The love and the honesty
That you gave me

I want to thank you
Show my gratitude
My love and my respect for you
I want to thank you

I want to...

Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you

It's one week later and just before Valentines day. It's still so odd that Rob's not around.. physically at least. We see pictures of him and his little knick knacks about the house.. his dice, his Dr Who poster, his Goonswarm shirts, LARP pictures, his work badge.
For those who didn't know, he decided to donate himself to the Medical Center here in Dallas. Because of how rare his disease was, we thought it would be beneficial to those in the future if they could study it. Anything to help those with cancer!
We're waiting to receive his ashes back from the center though they say it could take a few weeks to months to a year though until then, we'll hold off to do a memorial service until we get them.

Rob, my best friend, passed away on Friday. I still can't believe he's gone and I keep listening for him asking me to get him a glass of water or juice.
I look here and read the comments of all the people I know, friends, family.. and then those whom I don't know, those who were friends of Rob's on games I didn't play on and even people he didn't know but had a common ground.. and it blows me away to think of all the people who are thinking of him and our family.
We have had tremendous support throughout this entire time of which we are very grateful for. Things are rough right now for all of us as we make our little Band of Brittons one less.

Rob is surrounded by family right now while I step out for a moment to talk to the nurse. She says a few more hours before he'll be at peace.

My thoughts are with you and the girls through all of this. We will all miss him. I know it's been a while, but I think of you all often.
