ROASA’s Roadmap to Self Project

Donation protected

It comes a time when hard work is more than ready to produce even greater positive results. Therefore, we now beseech you to STOP, LOOK, and most importantly SERVE in our communities.

Seven years ago, Ms. Sharon Parker, President of Remembering Our Ancestors Synergistic Association (ROASA), Inc., realized that it's time that we really get to know (Self) and the stories of those who give/gave back unconditionally to their family, community, and the world.

Remembering Our Ancestors Synergistic Association (ROASA), Inc. is a self-development organization that serves to educate ALL about the rich contributions of African-American individuals to ALL.  Specifically, we aim to take young people and their family on a journey where they will learn about the stories of famous African American individuals (ancestors) and others who helped each other overcome major obstacles to achieve greatness.

Although people often talk about it, few people actually create a platform that exposes disadvantage youth, adults, and seniors to positive and extraordinary individuals who help/helped make America great. These heroes encourage others to succeed in life from their stories of triumph.   We are talking history ‘365 Days a Year’ and we hope to inspire you to join us as we strive to help everyone to:

-Think  and Remember Our Rich Ancestry!

- Think American History 365 Days a Year including African American History!

-  Think about hard working ancestors of all races that worked together to accomplished the American Dream!

- Think about the positive attributes of those hard working ancestors who gave back unconditionally!

- Think about the lives of the young and old that were saved because of the actions our ancestors…know that they thought about their decisions before they acted!

- Think about how great America can become if we learn and re-learn the stories of good and hard working people that are often forgotten 365 Days a Year and then actually begin or continue to do something to improve our communities.

Ms. Sharon Parker has thought about this, and has worked with positive and professional individuals in the DMV area to remind us about the above facts.  She has created a number of outreach platforms to bring people together, while shining the spotlight on their stories.

Ms. Parker is extremely excited to share that ROASA, Inc., will launch it’s first "Roadmap to Self’s platform" that will serve to inspire Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics, and others to "Remember" their ancestors, especially those who love America enough to look at the big picture, which is the need to work together to protect our children and families".  ROASA’s fun and interactive platform consists of presentations of stories that go back 100 years and further (19th century to the 21st century).

Ms. Parker is very passionate about America's history that includes African American history and culture. She looks forward to showcasing the ROASA's Roadmap to Self’s presentation at different businesses, churches, or civic organizations, and residents all over this great Country.

We ask that you help us continue to share gripping personal/inspirational stories of strong leaders and unsung heroes that include miraculous tales of forgiveness, successes, perseverance, and tough love.

In February 2016, ROASA, Inc., will launch the ROASA's Roadmap to Self’s presentation in the Washington, DC. We need and would truly appreciate your financial support to assure the success of our launch. Your financial help will allow us to create a virtual platform to share the ROASA's Roadmap to Self with those who are in dire need of positive reinforcement in their lives.

In summary:

1. Who is Ms. Parker? She is a little girl who at the age of 5 years old asked God "Why do some people seem not to like a little African American girl, such as herself?”

2. Who are we raising money for? We are raising money for all who were once 5 years old without a knowledge of self, who nevertheless have a pure heart, and now sincerely have a desire to make the world a better place to live for your family and others.

3. How much money do we need, we need $20,000 within 30 days.

4. Why does this mean so much to Ms. Parker? These are her words..."Well, when I was a little 5 year old little girl, living in the country, my mother did not have a driver's license, and my 10 siblings and I were not exposed to opportunities that often benefited others. I believe this issue shaped the direction of my life where I had to work very hard to achieve success. I now humbly and sincerely wish to continue a good work for the betterment of others who don’t have opportunities to connect with positive people, places, and things of today.

My parents never taught me about my history, so I grew up not knowing the importance of knowing "Self" or the importance of family and my community. My teachers never taught me in schools, so I grew up believing I had no value and no voice. I was in my 40s when I learned that I was somebody!

Too many little girls and boys are stuck in the rural homes, urban communities and virtual worlds believing that they don't have value, because they don't have the resources to actually meet living heroes or learn about the stories of past ancestors who faced similar issues they are encountering today. If they are lucky, their parents are working hard to keep the lights on and put food on the table so they can eat. Some parents can't afford to pay for field trips to go to historical sites, historic conferences, summits, symposiums, retreats, and even cultural workshops in their own community. Our children are missing out and I want to expose great people like YOU to them!"

5. Words cannot express how thankful Ms. Parker would be if the World would help her raise $20,000 to provide rich experiences and activities to those who have loss themselves. For the last 7 years, she has invested her own personal funds to create positive and strong collaborations with all types of organizations. Ms. Parker volunteers countless hours giving back to others, and now she’s asking for your help so that she can continue to impart one of the most precious gifts a person can receive and that consists of an opportunity to "Know Self". Knowing One’s Self can propel lost individuals to passionately and earnestly move towards their greatest destiny while also making this a better world!
