Restore Reverend Sandye

Donation protected
When I moved to South Orange, there were several things we loved about our diverse, progressive, inclusive community.

We loved our new home, our new neighbors, but we what we did not expect to find was a church home that we loved with all our heart.

As a life long Catholic, I never thought I would find a church home that matched my heart - progressive, empathetic, and respected the word of Lord.

Reverend Canon Sandye A Wilson is an amazing spiritual leader who built a beautiful community, young and old, which fundamentally upholds the best of Christian values for all: empathy, respect, love.

With over 400 members, our church community reflects the tapestry of the world and is welcoming to all no matter who you love or what you you look like.

Reverend Sandye has been placed on administrative leave since July. We need to raise funds to ensure she has due process given the unsubstantiated claims and veil of secrecy thus far.

We must raise money for the associated legal fees. We need your help now!

Would you consider making a donation to help us secure justice for Reverend Sandye? We must raise $25,000. Good Canon Law Attorneys are rare and expensive.

Please feel free to contact us to learn about other ways you may be able to help.

We believe that everyone is owed due process, especially Rev. Sandye, the first black woman ordained in the Episcopal church in the Diocese of New York.

She is a beacon of hope not just for Episcopalians but for all members of our community in South Orange and Maplewood, irrespective of faith, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

In today's times, people who lead us with messages of hope and empathy are healing voices and those that seek to silences those voices only cause more division and hurt.

Reverend Sandye is a voice of hope. A National treasure. A beacon of light. A spiritual leader of ALL people. A wonderful human being who deserves our love and support in a difficult time.

Please help us in our fight to support Reverend Sandye and the South Orange Community and the members of St. Andrew's & the Holy Communion.

No donation is too small! It will take all our might, love, and prayers to ensure that there is a just process to heal our church and restore Reverend Sandye to our pulpit.

We need your support to help us raise as much as possible to cover the all of the legal expenses of Reverend Sandye and our church community. And, the time to act is now. This process is moving fast. We must protect ourselves with proper legal advice.

Thank you for your support,
The members of St. Andrew & the Holy Communion

PS – Every penny you contribute will go directly to the associated legal fees. Thanks in advance for considering joining us in this important fight.
