Animation Exploration in Paris!

I have been given the opportunity to study abroad in Paris, France during June 2016, doing an independent research project as a post-baccalaureate student. This is a very unique opportunity for recent graduates to work independently with a professor from my institution to create a specific curriculum for my time there while working with a fully accredited institution.

This project will cumulate with a final research paper, which I will be submitting to an undergraduate research symposium, as well as a piece for my entrance into graduate school.

In the history of film and animation, Paris has a history of creating very unique avant-garde animations, becoming a place for the animation community to look to for inspiration and innovation. During my time in France, I will have the opportunity to attend the Annecy International Animation Festival, which is the largest international animation festival in the world.

This money will only be going towards tuition. The total cost of my tuition is $4320, which includes a room, museum passes during the entire month of June, two weekend trips to Southern France for studio visits and research, as well as a pass for the metro and bus around Paris.

This trip will be my final study experience before I enter graduate school, which will help me be a very competitive applicant and help further my career in focusing on the history of animation.
