Carter has a Lump

I adopted Carter (originally Carl...) in December of 2011 from the AZ Humane Society.  He captured my heart with his happy, goofy grin and his big loving hugs.  That, and he was known to be good with cats!  Many people have been welcomed to DerbySupply by his wagging tail and have rubbed his belly, maybe not realizing what else there is.

When I got him home, once his sutures healed from his neutering and back dewclaw removal, I found a rather large lump on his ribcage.  It doesn't cause him any pain, so initially I was against removal until it causes him discomfort.  In the past year it has grown, so now it seems like the safest option is to get it removed and sent out for testing.  I had a biopsy done and it was inconclusive, meaning it is not just fatty tissue, but we're not sure what it IS.

I love him dearly, and he falls in love with everyone he meets.  He loves kids, cats, sweaty derby girls, mailmen, everyone but door-to-door salesmen and bicycles (I don't know why still).

I know times are tough, that's why I'm making this.  I'm not able to afford this surgery and have gotten a pretty good price on it from my vet (they have even come down a little from the original estimate).  If you have met Carter, seen him on my Facebook, fed him a raw green bean, or even just have an affinity for Rotties, please think about donating towards his surgery.

I promise to post our adventures of him back in a cone-of-shame (just think: bull-in-a-china-shop).

Carter and I thank you for your time, every little bit helps!

Should we happen to make over $800, please know that it will go towards buying him green beans! :)
