Granny's Going Home Ceremony

Donation protected
**IN LEAU OF FLOWERS PLEASE MAKE A DONATION SO WE CAN GIVE GRANNY A PROPER SERVICE**

On August 22nd, 2015 at 508pm our beloved Granny was called home by The Creator very suddenly. She had been battling a staph infection in her vertebre since July 29th, 2015 when she was initially hospitalized.
We expected our Granny to come home to us in a few weeks, after a month or two of rehab, so she could regain her strength. We didn't expect to recieve a phone call as we were walking out the door to spend the afternoon with her tell us that she was not breathing and that they had called 911.
Myrna Webster-Smith, better known as Granny to everyone, was only 74 years old. She was moved from the hospital without our consent, to the rehab facility at 5pm on Friday August 21st. My Granny was dead 24 hours later.
We have so many unanswered questions, but right now we need to focus on giving her a proper going home ceremony.
We applied for county assistance, since we had not prepared for this day to come. My Grandmother was a spry, loving, amazingly bright and attentive woman who was expected to be with us for another 20 years at least.
Becker county will only cover an immediate burial or cremation. NO service, NO family viewing, and NO urn for her ashes. The gentleman at Washburn-McGeavy Funeral Home has offered a private viewing for the family free of charge on August 27th, 2015 at 1pm. This is an amazing gesture and I am greatful for the chance to spend time with my Granny for a little bit longer before she is cremated, but she was loved by so many people and I believe that we need to give her a traditional Native American going home ceremony so she can transition to the other plane and be met by our reletives that have passed on.
We are looking for donations to make a proper memorial service possible for my Granny. I will use the money to cover the expenses for a real urn, the payment for renting the community center in White Earth MN, the payment for an Ojibwa spiritual leader to perform her ceremony and give her the guidance to cross over, the payment for gas to get her from St Louis Park MN to the White Earth Indian Reservation so she can be remembered by her family and friends and also for any other costs that may occur getting the service together, such as programs, tips for the reverend, food, tobacco, sage, or any other ceremonial items.
I never thought that I would be saying goodbye to my Granny this early in her life. She was an amazing woman and I can't put into words how badly my hurt is aching without her presence to guide me.
ANY little bit helps. I am asking in leau of flowers that a donation be made so we can all have chance to say goodbye and also give Myrna "Granny" the send off that she deserves.
Thank You,
Mellissa Webster (Granddaughter)
