Rat Race Dirty Weekend

Donation protected
On the 9th May 2015, 5 members of the Grafham and Smithbrook Cricket Club will be taking on the challenge of the Rat Race Dirty Weekender (Rat Race).

Despite promises from 4 of the 2015 team never to return, having tackled the course in 2013, Graeme Williams, Kenny Eichen, Grant Williams and Jason Turner will be on the start line, along with Matt Fradgley, come the Saturday morning!

The task ahead of them - a 22 mile run taking on over 200 obstacles!! Training is already underway for some of the team and updates will be posted to keep you all informed ahead of the big event.

This year the team will be running in memory of Alex Ford-Robbins, who tragically passed away on the 21st July 2013. The aim is to raise £5000, with all funds being split on a 50/50 basis between the cricket club, that Alex was such a key member of, and SUDEP Action (www.sudep.org).

SUDEP Action is committed to preventing Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy and other epilepsy related deaths through research, awareness and influencing change. All funds raised will specifically be used to support the WADD project, which is developing and testing a tiny wearable device to monitor breathing in those with epilepsy. More details can be found on the SUDEP Action website.

With your help we are confident that we can reach the target. Any donations, however small, will be a huge help to both SUDEP Action and the club.

Many thanks
