Hello, my name is Ron Brooks. I am writing to you on behalf of the Milford Amateur Radio Club (MARC) located in Milford, Ohio. Our club is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization (Federal ID #31-1260251) established in 1974.
We are asking for your critical support in helping fund our club’s activities in the following areas:
• Support efforts in community education and recruitment of new Amateur Radio operators
• Provide needed material support for community emergency communications
Community education on what Amateur Radio is and how someone can become one is critical to recruiting new ham radio operators. Without our education efforts in the community, we will be unable to reach the next generation.
The Amateur Radio service will quite literally die off without a new generation of members serving the community. Your support will help us mentor those interested to the many benefits becoming a ham radio operator offers. MARC is a Volunteer Examiner (VE) testing station to provide, free of charge, monthly licensure testing for new and upgrading amateur radio operators.
Your support is also critical in helping MARC provide material support for emergency communications to the local community. This is especially important as our county recently eliminated its Amateur Radio Emergency Service. Currently our club has the only operational repeater with the coverage to serve Clermont County, Ohio.
Your support will help us provide the equipment we need in a time of emergency.
Our initial goal is to raise $4,500 to help fund our recruitment and emergency communication efforts. We will be most grateful of any donation you can provide in helping us reach our goal.
