Radio Northern Beaches equipment update

Radio Northern Beaches is a 100% volunteer-run community radio station based at Terrey Hills on Sydney's glorious Northern Beaches.
► We provide a service and give voice to all community members including the disabled, youth, elderly & ethnic groups promoting inclusion, diversity, and cultural growth on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
► Each and every week, we broadcast 58 unique programs, generating over one hundred hours of original content. The programs represent a broad spread of music, news, talkback, ethnic programming and special interest groups. These foster increased levels of social interaction, combating isolation, showing inclusion to the disabled and impaired and we believe, contributing positively to the mental health of our community. We KNOW that our listeners in Aged Care up & down the Northern Beaches peninsula are deeply appreciative of some of our programs especially curated for them. One notable music program has been broadcast every Saturday, without fail – for 30 years...
► We regularly broadcast live-to-air from local live music venues and to date, have recorded and broadcast over 2000 local artists & bands, confirming our support of Australian (and particularly, Northern Beaches) music & culture.
► We provide regular and ongoing media training as an accessible entry point for those seeking a career in radio. In the 19 years we've been providing a training facility, over 1000 recipients have been trained, some of whom have gone on to enjoy professional radio careers. Our most recent graduate of our intern program recently (March 2019) found permanent employment with a commercial station in South Australia as a breakfast announcer; as a direct result of skills learnt while interning at RNB .
We're the little-radio-station-that-could... and though a few small sponsorships help with station operations (copyright royalties, rent, phones, internet, insurance and all the boring stuff that keeps us on-air) there's precious little (read... none) funding left over to manage essential equipment renewals. Like most things, broadcasting infrastructure needs to be updated periodically and right now, most of our equipment is end-of-life and unfortunately, uneconomic to maintain.
To start with, we need to purchase new media players. The new players will replace aged and broken ones, and will be available for all members of RNB to use in their programming. This helps us to promote Australian music and to present local radio programs that matter.
Radio Northern Beaches is the voice for the community, by the community. Your contribution will enable presenters to bring the important music and interviews that tell local stories for our community.
