We care about refugees in Indonesia

Connecting communities

Refugees and Asylum Seekers Information Centre  (RAIC) is a community based refugee led initiative based in Jakarta, Indonesia. With close to 14,000 persons of concern and huge gaps in services, we are working to support each other and fill some of these gaps.

Refugees in Indonesia are mainly urban refugees. They do not live in camps with access to any services. They make their own way in a strange country, not knowing the language, culture, or how to survive day to day.

Refugees supporting Refugees
RAIC launched in August 2017, our current and planned future programs will provide much needed legal aid, basic needs & medical/mental health support for people who  don't have anything. For asylum seekers and refugees with no choice but to live on the streets of Jakarta, some with small children. For asylum seekers and refugees who live on a roof, or share a single room with 2 or more families. We connect communities, passing donations of clothes, blankets, basic food items, shoes, phones, books and materials for refugee schools, and whatever else is donated to us among vulnerable community members.  We also connect commmunity members with free assistance whenever we can, and empower them in many other ways.

We were once where others in our refugee community are now, and know how disempowering it is.  Through the kindness of friends we have made along the way we are now able to support others.
