Keep this family in Africa
We thought we could be brave and make the sacrifice. Turns out, we are big babies. This bit just got too hard.
While our oldest son Jackson has lived in Ohio, finishing his senior year, we have lived in Cape Town, South Africa, working in a local township community. We don't regret our work here, but we do regret missing his entire senior year.
It is beastly expensive to fly a family our size back to the US, and it is simply NOT in our budget, but we really would love to see his graduation ceremony and be part of this moment in his life.
It's frivolous, we know. The funds could be used to purchase a car, which we desperately need also. But, we've been absent for soccer games, basketball games, homecoming dates, new jobs, etc. We really would love to make it back for this!
Here's the plan: For roughly $1100 per person, we can fly from Cape Town to NYC. From there, (after 30 hours of flying) we will rent a car and drive to Ohio. That will save about $400 per ticket. One person has kindly purchased one ticket for us. So we really only need 5 more!
The graduation is in June. Would you consider helping us get to Jackson's graduation?
Thank you!!
