As part of our continued support for the LGBTQ+ community, Christian (CJTaylord Art ) is offering everybody the chance to win a 'CJTaylord Art' version of the LGBTQ+ Queen Bee, created for Bee in the City MCR. 100% of the proceeds of this competition will go to our chosen charity, George House Trust .
The competition will run from the 23rd of July till the 23rd of September, the duration of which the Bee in the City trail will be on. £1 donation equals one entry into the competition (£2 equals two entries, £3 three entries and so on - entries are unlimited).
The Charity:
Manchester based George House Trust has been providing HIV support, advice and advocacy services to improve health outcomes since 1985. A big part of George House Trust's mission is to challenge the stigma with HIV, wherever it occurs and make sure those affected by it have the help and support they need.
The LGBTQ+ Queen Bee came from the idea of activist Carl Austin-Behan who wanted to bring together and engage Manchester’s Vibrant LGBTQ+ Community, giving everybody the opportunity to be a part of this ambitious art project. After setting up a crowd funding website all members of the community came together to raise the funds in supporting “Bee in The City MCR ” with “OUR” very own Bee – over 50 generous donations were initially received by Supporters, Partners and Individuals. Continuous support being provided by Corptel UK, LGBT Foundation & Manchester Pride providing longevity here in Sackville Gardens - the Heart of Manchester’s Gay Village.
The LGBTQ+ Queen Bee which is a collaboration between CJTaylord Art and Ben Sedman Photography , and has been designed around the Rainbow Flag, a symbol of LGBT Pride, equality, inclusion and diversity. The aim was to ensure the sculpture was a definitive symbol of a city and community which encourages and inspires us to accept, embrace and celebrate life in all its glorious forms. The ultimate message of our community Bee is #LoveIsLove.
