We have so many people contacting us that want us to come do photoshoots and speak at events. It's exciting and nerve wracking. We can't go anywhere without funds to get there. Please spread the word about our project!

I had an awesome experience last week when visiting the zoo with a friend who is nursing a 6-month-old. While my older daughter was playing in a small play area, my friend fed her daughter under a shield. Another mom approached us and thanked her for feeding her daughter openly, and just wanted her to know that she was supported. It was such a powerful experience! Keep giving encouraging compliments, it is wonderful!

One of my twins started walking at 7 months old! As far as I know children under a year of age should receive some sort of "milk" as the main part of their diet. So in other words you recommend formula over breastmilk being the most healthy thing for a child to have? That's severely un-evidence based since its a proven fact that human milk is perfect for human babies and there is NOTHING else that can top it. Another silly thing about that statement is I would have to tell my smaller twin who walked at 7 months that she was not allowed to have milk anymore but her sister who walked at 10 months could continue to nurse. I doubt that would have gone over well. lol Anyway, Hector this is an amazing cause and I was so happy my family was able to be a part of it. Continue to do what you do and eventually we WILL normalize breastfeeding worldwide!!

So my oldest started walking at 10months and youngest is almost walking at 8 months, so you think I should stop feeding them?! I think not, either you support breastfeeding or you don't. There should never be a "but". It's because of comments like that, that people struggle with it. My thought is "to each their own" if you wants breast feed till 2 weeks, 6 months, 3 years, if you choose to bottle feed, delay vaccines, vaccinated, etc. it's a parents right to choose and people can have their opinions but not disapprove of others who do differently. We live in an opinionated world and everything thinks they know best but really what is best is what that person believes in for their child. I think this project is fantastic and I hope it helps with "normalizing" breastfeeding.

I am disheartened that the original photo on this link was removed. Are we seriously censoring nursing pics while raising money and support to normalize NIP?

Why don't other animals (because people are animals too) follow that line of thought? For example, why doesn't a giraffe stop nursing it's young as soon as it can walk at like 5 minutes old? Because it would die!!! And because walking or any other milestone is meaningless in relationship to nursing. The giraffe will know when she is done. So will her baby. As will a human mother and her baby.

Yes there are many benefits to breast feeding after the first year. Many children all over the world are not weaned until much later. Fortunately, people who are ignorant don't really need to approve of nursing children who are able to walk. Because all state laws, not to mention the laws of nature, already approve. The laws protect women and their children no matter how ignorant people are of them. And a mother and a child will know together when it is right to wean. It is different for every individual.

Um actually the World Health Organization says breast feed until 2 years old and beyond. So that is a really mean comment and sort of ignorant of you
