Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief

Donation protected
I'm sure many of you have been wondering why I have so much swag. Well, it's primarily because I'm Puerto Rican. ;)

Unfortunately, President Trump isnt being very presidential for the American citizens of Puerto Rico (well, for most of the country, if we're being honest). I've been experiencing a plethora of emotions around this...anger, sadness, disgust...and all have led me to trying to figure out how I can help. When thinking about what I have to offer...I wondered what would have the most impact. As eager as I might be to jump in and provide some manual labor myself...I feel that what our friends and families of Puerto Rico need most is money. Dinero. MUCHO dinero.

So---now's my time to find a way to be creative to get some people (ehm...YOU!) inspired to donate whatever you're comfortable with....by ME generating some energy via doing a dumb fitness feat (because that's what I'm good at - lol). If you know me, you know my marathon days are over. BUT---I figured I could endure rowing a marathon on an erg. Yes. 4 hours (hopefully not much more), rowing my buns off and likely experiencing some major #assrash. All so I can ask you to donate $1 per mile or $1 per kilometer of this journey of mine (aka $26 or $42 if you want to be thematic...otherwise, donate whatever you'd like!). Throughout October, I'll be keeping this page up to continue collecting funds....and on October 28 (my birthday!), I'll hop on an erg, listen to a playlist of whatever you send over as hype-music recommendations (seriously, I'm gonna need 4 hours of jams, so hook it up!), nosh on tostones and sip on Bacardi---and knock out 42kilometers of redundancy! :)
IN ADDITION to me perspiring for Puerto Rico...
...Sean Hanrahan (my bossman at work) has volunteered to get his sweat on, too! Sean is committed to running an indoor half Ironman while I row my stationary boat!!
AND...
#swolemates Ilona Price and Ali Squiller will be teaming up to lift 100,000 pounds!! #holybacksquats

I can't express how grateful I am to have so much support. #hugs

Where is this money going??
I've chosen to send all of the money I raise to World Central Kitchen . They've already been making their rounds in Puerto Rico, with Chef Jose Andrés himself whipping up loads of paella for those in need. Every single day these guys are on the ground, providing food and water to local communities. I'm in love with their philosophy of using the power of food to empower communities and strengthen economies.

Thanks so much for the support! I'm hoping that my (and your) contribution to the relief efforts in Puerto Rico can help bring food, water, and a few smiles to our fellow Americans on such an incredible little island.

PS...if you're local to DC...Equinox Sports Club will be hosting mini events throughout the month of October to help generate awareness and raise some money! Come check it out!
