 PETERSBURG, NY
Petersburgh Public Library is a small town library in rural Upstate NY with limited funds servicing a population of 1,500.   Patrons utilize the library for to obtain recreational reading materials and information about hobbies and special interests.  Students also use our resources to complete assignments and projects.

In addition to the traditional use of a library, we serve as a hub for the community to receive technological access, entertainment, and community educational and social programs.

Computers are available to our patrons for both internet and project work.  We provide printing and faxing services to the community.  We offer entertainment options for our patrons to borrow with DVD and VCR movies as well as e-readers, audiobooks, magazines and music CDs.  An important part of our services are the social and educational programs we offer.  Knitting and book clubs, summer reading programs, children’s activities, skill learning workshops, crafts, and author visits.  All of these programs provide social opportunities for our community.

We would like to update our resources inside the building that we use daily and are becoming quite dysfunctional.  Here is our list of needs and wants to update our library and bring us into the 2010s and beyond to best serve our patrons:

The library enriches my life tremendously. It is wonderful to live in a small, rural town and have access to all the resources of a large city library!
