The Pecan Creek Volunteer Fire Department is a 501(c)3 organization and a public department whose members are totally volunteers with a staff of 15+ suppression and support personnel and serves a population of 1,200+ citizens living in a 145+ square mile response area within county.
They operate out of one station location that protects a primarily rural/urban area. The department exists to provide a professional level of emergency response to the people and property within the community, county and the State of Texas.
They are a community department that cares about others within the community and in the other communities within the county area. They believe in "Neighbors helping Neighbors".
As a member of this community, we have seen what this department has done in the past by working to prevent and minimize the loss of life and property in order to provide the highest quality of service and a commitment towards excellence that any volunteer fire department can do.
One of the biggest projects that this community department has been working on for several years is applying for funding in which to help them build a fire station facility that the department is in desperate need of. Since the establishment of the department, back in Oct 1993, they have not had a true building in which to call home. Much of the time, the fire apparatus is setting out in the open weather with the elements of the weather taken a toll on the vehicles, equipment and the gear. This is forcing the department to spend more on the maintnenace and up keep on the vehicles and the equipment that is on those units.
With the right funding, they hope to have a building built and in operation in the very near future. Any financial support to this project will help in supporting this community project for its communityvolunteer fire department.
