My name is Paul Fletcher and I am moving to Lansing, Michigan to do a Mission Year.
What am I doing?
I will be living in Lansing to work with the University Christian Outreach (UCO) there from September this year until June 2019. UCO is an organisation with branches in several different cities across the world with the aim of bringing together university-aged Christians or those seeking the Lord, to build each other up, support one another and explore what it means to be a Christian in the world today and how to share their faith with people around them. I have been a part of UCO Dublin for the last three years and now am going to work for UCO Lansing. I'll be helping organise events, running small groups and bible studies, taking part in every part of the outreach, and really getting involved in everything I can help with. I am really excited to start!
Why am I going?
I really feel called by God that this is something He wants me to do. I finished college this May from Social Care, I have loved UCO Dublin and it supported me through my whole university experience. I feel both my degree and my experience of UCO will stand to me in Lansing and that God will use me to great things while I'm there.
Why am I fundraising?
This year working with UCO in Lansing is me giving up a year to work in a volunteering capacity. I do need to raise money to pay for: Rent; costs of UCO retreats, conferences and events; Flights to get there and back; and money for food, a phone, and anything else that I might need over the course of the year.
How can you help?
If you want to support me, I would really appreciate anything you can do. If you could pray for me and the work I'll do, I would be so so grateful, it means a lot knowing that people will have me in mind while I'm there. If you could support me financially to fund my trip and the work I will be doing that would be amazing, if it's a lot or a little, anything you can donate would mean the world to me. If you're going to see me in person before I go, I'd prefer you donate that way so I can thank you personally, you can ask any questions you may have, and all of your donation would go straight towards funding my trip.
