Patrick DeWane's Memorial Expenses

In lieu of flowers, we have chosen to ask family and friends for help to cover the cost of his memorial services. Any funds raised in addition to the goal with be gladly donated to his two favorite organizations: Boise Bench Lions Club and NPR.
A little bit about Pat...
Jean-Patrick “Pat” Russell DeWane was born February 17, 1983 in Boise, Idaho. Due to complications of epilepsy, Patrick began his next journey on October 5, 2018.
Patrick was born to a family with undying love for him. From his first surgery at 4 ½ hours old, through a life with epilepsy, autism, and muscular dystrophy, Patrick fought hard to have a normal life. He outlived all expectations of his doctors - from infancy, to toddlerhood, and adulthood. He not only surpassed all expectations but graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Biology. He was an avid reader, a staunch believer in universal health care, protecting the environment, and an avid advocate for the underserved. Anyone who knew Patrick, knew he was slightly opinionated and was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in. Patrick always wanted to be a teacher and, in many ways, taught everyone around him the importance of tolerance.
He was a beloved uncle by his nephews, who adored his playful spirit. Hunting, fishing, camping and boating with his dad were also times he treasured. He belonged to the Boise Bench Lions Club.
Because of the unique circumstances of his death, Patrick provided a miracle to many others in need of organ donation. He donated all his organs and tissues, leaving a lasting legacy in the wake of this tragedy.
The family gives their sincerest thanks to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Pacific Northwest Transplant Bank, and the ICU care providers who helped take care of Patrick and provided comfort for the family.
A celebration of Patrick’s life for family and friends will be held October 13, 2018 from 3:00 pm -5:00 pm. at 6800 W. Fairfield Ave. in Boise.
