Pasko Sa Hulyo

My friend Kaye Rillera and I are trying to raise funds for "Pasko Sa Hulyo" (Christmas in July). Our goal is to raise $800 to be used to buy basic hygiene kits and educational supplies for kids who live in the dumpsites in Dagupan City, Philippines.

Our hearts are burdened as we figure out ways that we can help these kids. We have been blessed so much and we want to bless other people too. We believe that everyone can do something to help, everyone can contribute. We believe that we are made for good works.


My friends are going to the Philippines in July to be the hands that serve these kids and to be the voice that encourages them. They're already saving up and doing whatever they can so that they can get a plane ticket to get over there.


The donations we're asking is for the supplies. We want to help the kids with educational supplies because education is the way out for most of these kids to get out of poverty. We will buy pens, papers, coloring materials, notebooks, chalk, eraser, sharpener, etc. We get to engage them personally as we teach them in the dumpsite.


Many of the kids who live in the dumpsites also have skin diseases that can easily be treated with a little disinfectant. We have friends in the Philippines who are going to the dumpsite every week to visit the kids just to clean them up.


We would like to help out by buying some basic hygiene kits for cleaning wounds. We will buy band aids, alcohol, and medicines like paracetamol, antibiotics, and anti itch cream. We're also buying some multivitamins for the families at the dumpsite.


We want to make a difference but we know that this experience will change us more than it will change them. It will help us become better people. Please help us make a difference. God bless. :)
