Over the past 10 years the pal youth football league has had good success and community development. We have grown and developed as an organization. Over these past 10 years, our county’s economy has suffered and our organization has been innovative enough to survive. We haven’t failed, but we have taken a hit and our funding is suffering. As a non-profit, the youth football program depends on the community for support
After inspecting helmets, uniforms, shoulder pads, cheer uniforms and necessary accessories, we have found that we are lacking many, many items that need to be addressed immediately. Currently we sent all of our functioning helmets off to be reconditioned. These helmets won’t even equip all of our athletes for the upcoming season. That bill costs over $2,000. We also want to upgrade the shoulder pads to protect our 5th and 6th grade teams as they prepare to make that step into the Middle school program. With the proper equipment, we can insure that all players are SAFE and PROTECTED.
The cheerleading equipment has taken a back seat too. Our pompoms are falling apart, the uniforms sometimes are mismatching, skirts and shirts are stained and ripping and the kids are somewhat embarrassed when playing against other organizations with matching equipment. Our goal is to field a PROUD cheerleader, focusing on cheering and not their uniform.
Our competing organizations have the football equipment, they have the cheer equipment and they have the banquet to support a thriving program. We are asking for $20,000. With this donation, we will be able to reset the program. We also have a yearly plan to maintain our equipment through inspections, cleaning and reconditioning of our equipment. With this donation we will be able to maintain ourselves for the foreseeable future with no major issues.
