K9s for Cops Statue for Oriole Park

The goal of the campaign is to sponsor a “K9 for Cops” statue in Oriole Park through the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s public art project.
Our K9 statue will be hand painted by a local artist who is donating her services. The statue’s design will reflect images of Oriole Park, the 18-acre park on Chicago's northwest side we call home! This larger-than-life size fiberglass German Shepard police dog statue will stand proudly and reflect our neighborhood and its commitment and support of Chicago’s Finest!
The Oriole Park Advisory Council believes strongly that children come first and we involve them in every park project. Local school children and scouting troops will be involved in the statue design process by drawing and coloring images of our neighborhood that the artist will incorporate into her design.
This summer, the completed K9 statue will be proudly displayed along the Mag Mile with the entire fleet of K9 statues from July to September before it heads to its permanent home in Oriole Park this fall!
This GoFundMe campaign will also fund the building and maintenance of a memorial garden that will surround the statue. The Oriole Park Advisory Council and park partners will use this garden and statue as a site for community gatherings and memorial services.
We are proud to sponsor the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. This public art project memorializes our city’s heroes and supports the families of police officers that have been killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty. A portion of the proceeds from the CPMF's public art campaign is earmarked for PAWS Chicago to benefit the rescue and adoption of dogs in the city.
