Oasis for Kids New Van

Oasis for Kids, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit that had its roots established in 1970 at a rural town in Northern California. The students there asked town resident Dave Duffin to help them start a motorcycle shop at their school. Surprisingly the school board approved the program. Now after 47 years the process has continued and many success stories began with the experience and friendships the young people had.

Key to the development of the students are various trips taken to the deserts of Nevada and California. The mode of transportation is presently a 2003 Chevrolet Van. This workhorse has pulled a 26-foot trailer all over the west and it is starting to get tired. The odometer now reads 300,000 + miles. It is time to get a new horse to pull our wagon.

We are hoping and praying for a new Chevrolet Express 3500 15 seat unit. With taxes and towing accessories, the cost is $50,000.00. Expenses and upkeep for our old van are eating into our budget. Please help us purchase a safe and dependable vehicle to continue the work of this 47-year-old successful “School in the Desert”.

Note: be sure to “click on” the UPDATES below the van and trailer desert photo. Then view a video testimonial from motorcycle legend Roger DeCoster, 4 of the Oasis Kids, and CA Parks.
