As embarrassing as this is to "ask" for donations. I'm not sure of any other way around this.
So a little history: I was diagnosed via exploratory laparoscopy in my early 20's with moderate Endometriosis. During the surgery we also found out I have two vaginal canals, two cervixes and two uteruses. I have had 3 laparascopies & Dilitation and Curettage procedures since I was 21. More recently I was diagnosed with PCOS and 3 weeks ago we suffered a miscarriage ( not my first one). I have been bleeding for 6 months straight and my pain is growing worse daily. I have required Iron shots and a blood transfusion.The doctor has tried multiple hormonal cocktails ( which have caused havoc on my body) and in office procedures with no success. My next step is surgery. My GYN is recommending a total hysterectomy due to my repeat history and that my disease is getting worse.
Now what's the problem? As most of my friends and family know at the start of the year I lost my medical benefits. Andy and I rushed our marriage this year so I could get health insurance faster because of my health issues. My Copay for the surgery will be $6000. I am expected to be out of work for approx 8 -12 weeks. Normally, I would say screw it and return to work after 3 or 4 but since I am a Nurse and my job requires heavy lifting and exposure to lots of bacteria that could infect my surgical sites I am agreeing to take the full 8 weeks off. After planning and speaking with my HR, I only have 72 hours of Sick time available ( 6 shifts) which only covers 2 weeks off. That would leave me without pay for 6 weeks. I will be attempting to work 60 hour work weeks until my surgery to make extra money. This is hard enough given how drained my condition leaves me.
I am DESPERATE to get my quality of life back again.
So again, as embarrassing as asking for help/donations is, it's my only option at this time. ANY donation would be appreciated and not forgotten. Thanks for taking the time to read my story! Good vibes and prayers to you all!
