We are opening a crisis pregnancy center in the city of Biddeford, Maine. There is a great need here for a center for women in need of support, coaching, and assistance in making life-altering decisions. Although there is a center in Portland and one in Sanford, they are too far away for people in need who live in our community to reach.
The main goal of New Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is to share with those who are already parents and those who are parents-to-be the love and practical care of Christ. Through support and coaching women in crisis will have an opportunity to apply clear reasoning and careful decision-making to their particular situation.
We have several financial goals, the most immediate of which is to lease a centrally-located venue in Biddeford. There, women who need them will be given a pregnancy test and, if they desire one, a sonogram by which they may see their baby. Pregnant women will receive instruction about the development of the baby inside them and about proper prenatal care. Both mothers and fathers will have access to coaches who will support them with care until they can become self-reliant. Parents-to-be will attend classes about parenting. By attending these classes they earn points which they can trade in for diapers, wipes, baby clothes, etc.
We will also offer post-abortion coaching and information about the option of adoption, as well as regular Bible study, money management classes, and coaching and support regarding postpartum options such as breastfeeding and sucessfully obtaining employment. Should professional counseling be advisable, we will refer clients as needed.
Our goals in opening New Hope Pregnancy Resource Center are eternal. But to begin to achieve those, we must gather sufficient financial backing to establish the center's location here. Please prayerfully consider contributing to the future generation of this area.
