Need to bEAT
Donation protected
The "Need to bEAT" campaign is aimed towards raising money for Eating Disorder research and spreading awareness of Eating Disorders in our communities. Eating Disorders are amongst the most prevalent yet most underfunded disorders on the mental illness spectrum: only $0.93 are spent per affected individual in comparison with the $88 and $81 spent per affected individual of Alzheimer's Disease and Schizophrania respectively (NIH).
All of the money raised will be donated to the Boston Children's Hospital adolescent Eating Disorder research program. Boston Children’s is actively involved in research projects aimed at providing a better understanding of adolescent Eating Disorders and developing new treatments. Some of their current projects include therapies for prevention of osteoporosis, nutritional pattern risks in school and community settings, and a National Quality Improvements collaborative study to compare and improve care of adolescents with Eating Disorders across the country.
Please help us raise awareness and research money by contributing to this campaign. We would be very grateful to have any contribution/donation. If you have any questions, please contact Valery at [email redacted].nj.us. Thank you.
