Naples Shooting Victim, aftermath.

Donation protected
I understand that your time is important to you, so I'll be brief and then I'll elaborate. How in one month, did I go from being successful, to being a victim, to not being allowed to smile. The fact is; I have never been financially stable per se, I am simply a professional minded individual with a dream, but today, I am a victim in desperate need of your help.

AS OF 2017, DONATIONS HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE HALT, PLEASE HELP!!! The minute Nate takes a picture where he's smiling, suddenly nobody wants to help anymore.

Victim's compensation only paid 10k toward a medical bill of their choice, and sent me a letter that said, we have no more money. Well, here's the catch, just one hospital wants at least 190k, that doesn't include any rehabilitation. In fact, the hospital kicked me out, hopping on one leg, with no wheelchair, and a scrotum the size of Texas. Everything minus a swift kick in the butt, and good luck with your life sucker. (I had to freeze my account after one of my clients wrote a fake check for three pages of services I completed, this is what cancelled my insurance prior to the incident.)

Yesterday a beautiful girl told me, "so when are you going to get out of your wheelchair and start walking like a man?". According to my own experience in this specific situation, literally 99% of people tend to donate a small amount one time, and spend the rest of the time judging you. All I'm asking is; Please understand, recovery is not an overnight thing. Although I appreciate your support from months back, I need your help today!

WHAT HAPPENED?
Coming out of the North Naples Country Club on August 29th, 2016, Nate James was approached by a white and hispanic (unknown males) on bicycles, who joined the leaving conversation and invited Nate to their friend's house for an after party. Nate was not interested at first, but they were persistent, and eventually Nate decided to go along. Apparently they sat at the bar for a large portion of the night scoping the place for an easy target.

After walking with the two men down 108th Ave N in Naples Park, the Hispanic male later named Jonathan Fojon, turned around and began shooting at Nate for absolutely no reason whatsoever, apparently just for kicks. It was later found out that Fojon had stolen his brother's gun just hours before, and went to NNCC with the specific intention of choosing a victim. Nate had never met the two before, it is not known what their motive was, other than seeing what damage he could do.

Fojon shot at Nate 10 times with a 9mm, and was successful 7 times. One shot completely shattered his shin bone, another split his fibula straight in half. Two bullets in the knee, another in the leg, one in the scrotum, and one in the butt. There was so much blood, it was insane. He managed to escape within inches of his life and dodge 3 bullets, as he ran and hid behind some shrubs under a car. They looked for him with their phone lights for a minute and then left the scene. Nate is very lucky to be alive, but doesn't always feel that way when he is often considered an annoying handicap for asking for help.

This is not the first time Fojon has been arrested for shooting someone, he was currently hiding at his brother's house evading a warrant in Dade County. He was arrested the same night, and Nate was taken to the trauma center, after coming face to face with death.

He now owes nearly 300k just in medical bills from those two weeks in the hospital and the surgery, he is currently unable to receive rehabilitation, due to lack of money. Nate is now capable of walking with a cane, but not without pain medication. He continues to run his business but it appears this will be a life altering issue, and needs to be monitored on a daily basis.

ABOUT ME
Nate James is a 32 year old warm hearted gentleman, a musician, business owner, and romantic who has never been physically violent, and volunteers his music at retirement communities, trained and sheltered animals, and has cared for children and newborns. He is a computer technician that maintained a 3.7 avg gpa in school, a vocal artist that has performed at Carnegie Hall and Disney, and has won awards as a billiards captain in Naples, Florida. He now struggles just to get out of bed and make it down the stairs, let alone keep up with the demand of bills, his mother's injuries, his business, and having any bit of a social life, in fact, just getting anyone to visit him is a miracle in itself.

MORE INFO
Nate's mother and cousin were the only ones who came to the rescue during this disaster. Nate's mom who has been a teacher her entire life moved down from Colorado to help Nate. She has struggled financially her entire life and still requires Nate to pull in an above average income just to put food on the table. We are desperately hoping she will be successful in Collier County, otherwise she may be forced to leave Naples again, for a principal job somewhere where opportunity is not constantly shut down. On top of that Nate has had to spend money on attorneys left and right to defend himself against collectors and his business being evicted for no reason.

If anyone needs computer repair or knows a good location to open shop, please contact Nate on FB.
