Hi Everyone,
My name is Steve and I am trying to raise money to help pay for medical bills for my wife, Nancy.
Just before Christmas of 2015 Nancy was diagnosed with stage 2, possibly starting stage 3 cancer. While her outcome is hopeful we need some help with bills.
Asking for help is tough and I honestly thought I would never need to do this.
We have insurance but it does not cover everything. To top it off our daughter Courtney is graduating from high school this year and with Nancy having cancer the bills may prevent us from giving Courtney the graduation day she so deserves.
Because the cancer is inoperable she will undergo a regiment of radiation treatments every day, 5 days a week for the next 6-7 weeks. She will also have chemotherapy the first 4 days of radiation and the last 4 days of radiation. Then when that is done lots of follow ups to make sure the cancer is gone.
Nancy is one of those special people who has always tried to help people. She worked in upstate New York for 15 years with the mentally handicapped in a group home setting. Dealing with patients who had violent behaviors’. She always faced the job with dedication and a smile. Sometimes she would come home with bruises caused by patients who got out of control but she would get up the next day and go back to work. I asked her how she could deal with that day in and day out, her answer was that the patients needed someone who could show compassion, kindness and forgiveness since many of the patients had family that abandoned them or could not deal with the mental and physical problems.
We want you to know this means a lot to our family and we know that many people are not in a position to help financially which is totally understandable. But if you can help with any amount it would mean so much to us by taking some stress off us so we can concentrate on Nancy’s healing.
We want everyone to know that any extra funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
