NYAGI - Saving Lives with Ultrasound...Together

Saving Mothers' and Babies' Lives in Resource-Limited Areas ...Together!

With your help, we can save more lives. The NYAGI Project is heading to Haiti in early 2019 to train local healthcare providers in the use of  ultrasound. The goal is to teach trainees how to identify life threatening conditions, so that appropriate action can be taken before the situation becomes acute. Trainees will, in turn, train other clinicians, midwives, and skilled birth attendants.  We are excited to support the Caris Foundation who are leading the Haiti initiative and all other collaborators and donors who are helping to make this project feasible.

NYAGI, a Boulder, CO based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, has been organizing hands-on training courses in resource-limited, remote areas of the world since 2016. After 2 successful trips to Nepal, and almost 100 trained in ultrasound, NYAGI hopes to reach 1000's more in 2019.  That's where you come in!

Globally, every 2 minutes a woman dies in childbirth (that's equal to ten 747 planes crashing every week).  Sadly, many of these deaths are avoidable. Breach babies or low-lying placentas are life-threatening conditions that can be safely identified with ultrasound, so appropriate action can be taken.

Ultrasound is an amazing imaging technology that's been used in healthcare for over 50 years. It’s safe, immediate, and portable. Ultrasound machines are now the size of cell phones. The biggest barrier to using ultrasound is its steep learning curve.

We partner with 7D Imaging, Inc. (who donate the training software), expert sonographers (who graciously donate their time and expertise), and groups of volunteers  (who track down unused iPads) to teach basic and advanced ultrasound skills.  The NAV™ software developed by 7D Imaging turns an iPad® into an "expert-in-a-box" for ongoing learning.  Our hands-on training combined with the educational software help healthcare workers learn ultrasound faster and better.

And the donated iPads can be geo-tracked! This helps builds global connections - donors to recipients. All the pieces are there to save lives with ultrasound and iPads. We just need sponsors and funding.

Help Save Lives!
Please support the NYAGI Project. Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of January to support our Haiti trip.  Funds will be used mainly to pay for travel for the NYAGI team (who are all donating their time), and for training costs.  And if, you'd like to donate an iPAD, click here .

YOU can make a difference! Thank you!
