The New York Riveters are a founding member of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), the first North American women's hockey league to pay its players. We, the Rivs Fans, have been loyal since the first puck drop at Aviator Sport Complex in Brooklyn, NY.

We have seen our team play at every home game and hit the road to #RepTheRivs in Boston, Buffalo and Connecticut.

When we heard NWHL player salaries would be cut by roughly 40%, effective immediately, we were heartbroken. New York is expensive, especially for NWHL players only making an average annual salary of $15,882. Our very own Tatiana Rafter explains the impact of the cuts in her guest blog post

We aim to buy 20 tickets for every remaining Riveters game (home and away), as well as 10 weekend passes to the NWHL All Star Game in Pittsburgh.

The league has announced that home and away teams will split the 100% commission on surplus ticket sales (everything beyond 500 tickets.)  We hope to help the Riveters pack the arena, no matter where they play!

Our captain, Ashley Johnston had this to say about the ticket revenue announcement, "It demonstrates the unique opportunity we, as players, have in being able to lay down the foundations of a professional female hockey league ... I’m excited to continue working with the league in making the NWHL the best place for players to play and for fans to enjoy the incredible sport of hockey.”

Once we purchase the ticket blocks, we will donate the tickets to fans, youth teams and other women's professional teams (and/or their supporters groups.)  We hope to prioritize donating tickets to those who've never seen an NWHL game, or who wouldn't be able to afford tickets otherwise.

All donated funds will be used to purchase tickets at face value.  Any additional funds raised will be given directly to the Riveters players, to be used as they see fit. No amount is small and every donation is appreciated by players and fans alike.  The women of the NWHL show up on the ice for us, let's show up for them by reaching our fundraising goal!

Greetings Donors:

We have reached the end of our campaign. Unfortunately, the Riveters did not advance to the Isobel Cup Finals. However, this season was still a success, and in big part because of you!

We raised $3,350 in three months and sent over 160 people to all New York Riveters games this year, including the All-Star Game.

From fans heading to their first hockey game, to youth teams and even other professional women's teams, we were able to provide support for the Riveters and the NWHL.

Thank you to the Riveters players for signing numerous posters and pucks. Thank you to all the writers and outlets that we partnered with us to make this campaign a success.

But ultimately, it was the fans that carried us to the finish line. It's been a humbling experience, and a great example of what can be accomplished when we come together.

Tune in for the Isobel Cup Finals tomorrow and keep in touch as we count down the days until season three!

All the best,
Rivs Fans

Greetings Fellow Supporters:

As we approach the NWHL All-Star break, the campaign has purchased over 100 tickets for fans at 2 out of 4 NWHL arenas! With the Riveters season now ending on March 12th, 2017, we are adjusting our goal to $3,500, instead of initial $5,000. Here is what we have left to raise:

3/4 Riveters at Boston - $350.00, partner pending
3/12 Boston at Riveters - $350.00 partnership with Ice Hockey in Harlem pending

We also have priced the cost to send fans to the NWHL Playoffs. Here is the breakdown:

3/17-19 NWHL Playoffs - $500, proposed ten (10) weekend passes, priced at last year's rate ($25/game)

Finally, here are a few other details about the campaign we wanted to share:
The NWHL offered us a special 25% discount code for all Riveters games

The tickets for the 1/29 Riveters at Connecticut game were refunded due to the inability to find a partner

We have learned that NWHL fans and supporters like you are awesome! Player are overwhelmed by the support that all fans have shown. We cannot thank all the donors and supporters on social media enough.

Special shout out to Erik Wollschlager, Dan Rice, Mike Murphy, Gay & Lesbian Youth Services of Western New York, MyWSports, the Pittsburgh Passion Women's Pro Tackle team, Hockey in New Jersey and the NWHL for helping us promote our cause and get tickets in the hand of fans in Buffalo, Pittsburgh and New Jersey.

Greetings Donors:

Thanks to your generosity, we can purchase tickets to all Riveters games through the month of January - that's five NWHL games!

So far, we have partnered with Cloud 9, the Beauts Battalion, the Western NY Flasher and the Gay & Lesbian Youth Services of Western New York.

Other partnerships in the works include Ice Hockey in Harlem and the Hockey in New Jersey programs. We are very close to being able to purchase the 10 tickets to the All-Star Game in Pittsburgh.

Please continue to like, share and retweet the campaign. Collectively, we are supporting the NWHL players and the league itself. We will send another message when we have secured funding for the All-Star game.

Most Sincerely,
Rivs Fans
