Help Nate Move Mountains

Hi! Nathaniel here, or many of you know me as Nate. I am 18 years old and a 2015 graduate of Franklinton High School who graduated with High Honors and as a North Carolina Scholar. I am a future student of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, friend, percussionist, musician, scholarship recipient, car & truck enthusiast, minority mentor, and an all around "Renaissance Man" with a philanthropist heart. I also have cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage IV/A Hodgkins Lymphoma on June 5, 2015 - just 8 days before graduating high school. I decided that exact same day that cancer will not define me nor would I allow cancer to take away my dignity. I decided to MOVE the mountains that were placed before me to show everyone that they CAN be moved. With a lot of self determination and the support so many, I WILL move mountains. I decided to create this campaign to ask for donations to help move these mountains. The funds will help my mom & I with the already mounting financial responsibilities from the many doctor appointments, tests, biopsies which included a double bone marrow biopsy, chemotherapy, EKG's, lung and heart analysis', anti-nausea medications, fuel to and from the 65 mile round trip to the cancer center where I receive my treatments. I also was suggested by my oncologist to purchase a FitBit to track my physical health, heart rate, and sleeping pattern and she also recommended several filtered ready water bottles to stay hydrated. I'm on a high caloric, high protein, organic diet, too. The donations will also help with the insurance deductible and coinsurance fees, lunch for my mom on chemo days, and entertainment tickets or rentals to bowling, movies, or Defy Gravity on days I can spend with my little sister (she's been a trooper so far during my journey). My mother has missed a great deal of work to be at my side for every appointment thus far, almost depleting her allowed vacation & sick time. With your donations, it will allow her to continue to be by my side. I know my mom is facing a great deal of financial burdens but I don't want her to have to worry about that either. Together, we need to be 100% focused on helping me move these mountains!!!
