My name is Rocki and when I was 17 I was homeless and just bouncing from friends house to friends house. Marty took me into his home, gave me my own bedroom, fed me, and allowed me to graduate high school. He continued to let me live with him so I could go to beauty school.
Marty loved the food industry and his dream was to open up a restaurant. He came up with a food truck idea and motley crews heavy metal grill was born.
He had just announced that he was opening a resturant called heavy metal grill. On March 6th at 11pm the food truck, motley crews heavy metal grill, exploded in the driveway of their home in Lakeville mn. Marty's only child Samantha (age 12) was home alone at the time, she was safe in her bedroom downstairs but ran out of the house terrified for her life. As she left the house she realized the entire truck had exploded and a neighbor ran out and carried her to his home. Sam suffered only stress and nausia.
The entire food truck is gone, vehicles are in shambles, and their home is in dire need of repairs now. They are not even sure if they can return to the home anytime soon. They will not be able to stay in their home since it is not safe and it is cold in Minnesota and they have no windows.
I am reaching out now and asking that we support this family because they supported me and took me in. I wouldn't be the amazing person I am today with out Marty.
Marty is a single father doing his best to raise her on his own, he now has no income and no job to pay the bills.
In the blink of an eye Marty lost everything he had worked his entire life for. His business he built on his own, his job, and his home that Samantha has lived in since she was born.
It is still very surreal for all of us that this is even happening.
