On our next upcoming trip to Paliau Village, South Sudan (January-May 2013) our goal is to drill the water well, purchase the loader truck, bring medical supplies, and lay the foundation for the library education center. Your help is needed to make this a reality! Individual project descriptions below.

United in a mission of solidarity, together we make this project possible. Donation information below. Mary's Project is a 501 (c) 3 Charitable Organization. All donations are tax deductible.

It is a MUST and life giving to drill a water well in Paliau Village at the upcoming construction site of the Library Education Center Building Project (January 2013 groundbreaking). The water well is vital for both clean water and sanitation for the villagers and to mix cement for the library construction project. It will serve two very important development initiatives. In 2008, an estimated 1.7 million people returned to their homes in Southern Sudan, according to a UN report, with numbers since rising to an estimated 2 million. Putting more strain on already strained resources, the people lack access to water and sanitation facilities. The floor plans for the Library Education Center include several bathroom facilities for future development. Research shows that clean water and soap reduces common disease by 80% and overall deaths by 40%. *We will use a drilling company from Kampala, Uganda and/or Nairobi, Kenya. Documentation on building/developmental details will be provided to all donors during the drilling process and once complete. For more information:

On July 28, 2010 UN Resolution 64/292 declared clean water and sanitation a human right and acknowledged that "clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realization of all human rights. The Resolution calls upon States and international organizations to provide financial resources, help capacity-building and technology transfer to help countries, in particular developing countries, to provide safe, clean, accessible and affordable drinking water and sanitation for all.

During the long Second Sudanese Civil War, 2.5 million lives were lost, schools and villages were burnt down and destroyed. Now that South Sudan is the new and free Republic of South Sudan, July 9, 2011, it is a time to unite with our brothers and sisters and bring HOPE through education and development.
ABOUT THE PROJECT: Ajuong Library Edcuation Center will serve all 5 Primary Schools in the Ajoung Community, Twic East County, Jonglei State. As a full functioning two-story Library for both school children and adults, the building will also serve as an Educational Center equipped with a computer room, educational DVD's, a wall projector, an arts and crafts room, and school supply resource center. Currently, their are no school supplies in the schools and the teachers use only a blackboard and chalk. The Library Education Center will serve the needs of the 5 primary schools.

SPONSOR AN EDUCATION Program: For a $5 or $10 gift we can achieve our goal!
$900.00needed to keep the 3 boys in school for the next 3 month semester: September 1, 2012 - November 31, 2012. Please help us keep the boys out of the refugee camp and in school. As we work to keep the boys in school at St. Gabriel's in Kenya, we have begun a process to bring them to the U.S. in hopes of educating them at O'Gorman H.S. They have spent most of their lives in the refugee camp since small children due to civil war in South Sudan and persecution of their faith.
Documentation from St. Gabriel's Boarding School for Mayen Garang Juowei:
If we are all able to just give $5 or $10 we can get this done and provide HOPE for a better future through education to the boys!

During our 2011-2012 Christmas Mission HOPE South Sudan Trip, we were able to successfully take the boys out of Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, Africa and enroll them in St. Gabriel's Boarding School, Nakuru, Kenya, to start their High School education in Secondary Grade 9. Please view attached video of our visit in the camp with the boys. Documentation for entering Kakuma Refugee Camp to visit the boys and begin the education process.
Atem and Manyan just completed 2 semesters; January 2012 - March 2012 and May 2012 - July 2012. They successfully passed their exams last week and have August off. The boys were forced to flee their home in South Sudan as young children to escape their country's civil war and seek refuge in Kenya. Our goal is to start an immigration process for the boys to the U.S. while keeping their education process moving forward in Africa.

Please unite with us and help give Atem, Mayen, and Yol an education and hope for a better future. Information below.
