Mike DeMartelly's Recovery

Donation protected
I met Mike approximately 15 years ago when we worked together at NH Department of Transportation. He was a pleasure to work with and I learned a lot from him. More importantly, Mike was the “go to” guy. He was always willing to help anyone who had a special project, or needed something heavy moved. From discussions with Mike, I learned he was the same way in his community. Helping his neighbors who needed some wood cut, a hot meal, or a ride to an appointment. Well, now Mike needs a little help!

Mike has been sick for the past few years, limiting his ability to work. In August Mike was diagnosed with Stage Three Pancreatic Cancer. Thankfully, he was a candidate for the Robotic Whipple Surgery, the first one performed in the Northeast. It involves the removal of a portion of the pancreas, the gall bladder, and much of the duodenum. The operation was successfully performed in August. However, the recovery will be difficult and prolonged. The recommended therapy to prevent recurrence is extensive and costly. However, he has been responding well to the therapies. While caring for Mike his wife, Libby, who has not had a day off from work for 3 years, has been unable to work. The inability to work, along with the additional expenses, has created a huge financial strain on the family.  Any donations are greatly appreciated.
