Midwives for Black Lives is an ally movement created by midwives to improve prenatal, birth and postpartum outcomes for black families.
Our primary objective is to increase access to midwifery education for those who seek to serve their community. More black midwives means that black families will have greater access to care from a trained provider who looks like them, understands their experience and can offer culturally responsive care. Studies have shown that these factors significantly improve outcomes.
Your generous donation will provide a scholarship to a midwifery student. We hope that this scholarship will be the first of many. The first recipient will be apprenticing under Asasiya Muhammad, CPM of Philadelphia, PA. She is currently interviewing candidates and we can't wait to announce them soon.
