Michelle Osborne's Fund To Fight

Where it all began.... Michelle hit her head a few months ago (Trunk to her SUV closed on her and the hitch hit her in the head) the next day she was feeling dizzy and just wasn't feeling right. She then went to the ER to make sure everything was ok. They did a cat scan and found a mass in her head. (Although she did have a slight concussion the mass was not from this incident, the doctor couldn't tell us how long it has been there.) Her primary doctor then ordered another cat scan results didn't show anything and APPEARED to be fine, but she wanted to make sure and then ordered another with  IV contrast. The results of that one showed a uncommon aneurysm. She was then referred to a neurosurgeon in Dallas. We went to Dallas, saw the neurosurgeon. He informed us that yes there was in fact a aneurysm and that it wasn't a question of whether or not to do surgery but when to do surgery. On Thursday June 8th She was supposed to be having a stint put in place to stop the blood flow to the aneurysm so it will "Kill it self". A week before she was supposed to show up for surgery, the doctor office called us and informed that her insurance would  not cover it seeing as how they were "Out Of Network". We then had to find a doctor here in Austin who would accept her insurance. We went to see him and instead of just jumping right in as the previous Neurosurgeon wanted to, her new Neurosurgeon Dr. Ashur ordered that we do a Angiogram (Where they put a camera in her groin through her artery up to her brain to take detailed pictures) We came Wednesday 7/12/17 and did the Angiogram. Everything seemed to be fine afterwards, she did have a really bad migraine but they chalked it up to being a normal side effect of the procedure. When she got out they gave her some pains meds to try and help (they didn't) it then became time to give her some more so they did. This time they made her nauseous so they gave her meds for that. These made her fall asleep. She took a much needed nap and woke up saying she could not see. Talk about scary, ya'll have NO IDEA how scared I was. Instead of going into strait panic mode only out of fear of freaking her out. I talked her through it. The doctors came evaluated her, they said that usually if something were going to happen it would have happened right after procedure. But instead it happened just 30 minutes before she was supposed to be released to go home. (We were required to wait 3 hours after the procedure to make sure the bleeding was under control etc. This was supposed to be a day procedure and she would be fine afterwards to go home and do regular activities until the Neurosurgeon called with his plans as far as how he was going to proceed with the actual Aneurysm Surgery. They ordered a MRI which showed that Michelle had suffered several micro strokes. She could not see anything and would not communicate well with anyone at this point. She was scared, we were scared and did not know what would happen at this point. They then told us that the veins and arteries were not permanently damaged and although it would be a process we could expect a full recovery. We are currently on day 2. She has most of her vision back other than one blind spot. They are hoping that this spot comes back as the others did overnight. If it does not she will be unable to drive. She has not been able to shower, is finally allowed to eat but has not felt up to it. She isn't wanting to do much other than sleep. We first and foremost want to ask for prayers because they mean more than anything right now. Michelle is a single mother who supports her son on her own. Shortly after she found out about the aneurysm in the first place, se found out that her place of unemployment would be closing as well. NOW WHAT? Not only did she just find out she has a life threatening condition that will require numerous doctors appointments which are 5 hours from where she currently lives, they would all need to be done soon. Now I don't know about you but I'm not sure of any place of employment who would want to hire someone who will be having to take off a minimum of 4 weeks off right off the bat. With all this being said Michelle has been without work for a few weeks now and of course bills are adding up. Michelle before was a independent single mother. She has rent, a phone bill, a car note, utilities and not to mention the cost of her 3 year old son Kingsley, to all be paid. We ask for your help, Anything amount will make a difference. Even if she were to be able to leave the hospital today (unfortunately not happening) she would have to visit her surgeon again in a month to discuss how we will proceed with the actual aneurysm treatment itself. Once the surgery is scheduled and then done the recovery time frame will be 4 weeks minimum. That's 8 weeks from now if she were ok to go home today. We have no idea on a time frame as of now when it comes to when she will be getting out etc. Never in a million years did any of us ever think this would be happening. It has definitely taken us all for surprise and shaken us up a bit actually ALOT. I can't tell you how many times I have balled my eyes out since day 1. It's a very scary situation, our sister, daughter, niece, aunt, best friend, and mom at just 25 years old has went through what should have been a fairly easy procedure that caused several strokes during the process. Not to mention she's not out of the clear yet. No where even close. She may have to have therapies to follow before her initial release of the current hospital stay. We are waiting on results of the last MRI to see if anything shows up because she has had uncontrollable head pain since the beginning and still doesn't have her complete eye sight back. Michelle has gotten a lot better in just the last 24 hours but still has a very very long road ahead of her. If you cannot donate then pray, please pray. Prayers help just as much as any amount of money ever will. We would like to thank you in advance. Every dollar and spoken prayer means more to us than you will ever know. Michelle is being a champ and fighting through this the best way she can, lets pull together to make it as easy as and least stress free as we possibly can. ****** I will be posting any updates as far as results and her conditions as they are known. THANK YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!
