With the passing of time, and changing events in Eric's battle with cancer and the subsequent health complications, many of you - family, friends and acquaintances - have asked what you could do for Eric (and Cheyanne) in this phase of his continued struggle.

Eric has been transferred from Self Memorial's Critical Care Department  to Hospice.   This decision was obviously made by Eric, Cheyanne and immediate family with the guidance and information given by Eric's medical team.  With the failing of major organs to provide and sustain Eric's life in a quality manner, he chose to not be on a prolonged life support.   As hard as it is to even think about giving up and Eric leaving us physically, it is even harder to know how much pain and suffering he has gone through.  The obvious choice is to allow Eric's last days to be spent comfortably, pain free, and surrounded by those he loves and who love him.  He has been such a mighty warrior, and his battle is nearing its end

This fund will be transferred to the costs involved and related to this time, including the impending burial and final expenses.

If you would like to help in any way, it will be most appreciated by Cheyanne and Eric, as this is one huge way to take some of the pain and stress from their remaining days together, and of course, to Cheyanne as his survivor afterwards being able to meet the financial expenses.

Your prayers and outpouring of love and support have been such a blessing, and have seen them through many rough and troubling days.  Continue to pray for both and lift them in prayer to God Almighty for His precious love and healing.  YES, ERIC will be healed and delivered from the grave!!  Amen and God bless each and every one of you.  LIVE - LAUGH - LOVE!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many of you know of Eric's continued battle to be WELL...his Hodgkins' remains in remission since his miraculous bone marrow transplant from August 2009 at NIH.  Cheyanne, Eric's parents and I were there to "witness" this life-giving and saving process.   From a personal observation, I can tell you I have never felt CLOSER to heaven than at that moment.   It was perhaps one of the most thrilling times of my life to see that little bag of bone marrow flowing into Eric's veins, and knowing that it would hopefully be the end of CANCER...that horrible "c" word.

Along the journey, Eric has suffered many resulting illnesses and complications due to his compromised immune system (which is all but non-existent).  These have left him in the hospital for the majority of the past year!  Cheyanne remains by his side as his caregiver.  Their dedication and struggle to have their HAPPILY EVER AFTER is painful to witness.

May 17 will be their 3rd Wedding Anniversary.  To his friends, family, loved ones:  Please share this site, so that we may all give a little and support them.  The financial stress is huge (medicine and care even with insurance is a tremendous financial burden).  The costs of hospital visits (and in Eric's case weeks and months of ICU), co-pays, lost wages, and other expenses add up quickly.  Cheyanne has had little opportunity to work during this year.  Their debt will be a lifelong thing...but perhaps if we all give just a bit here and there we can make that LESS of a burden.

God Bless You All - for your prayers, for the cards, for the words of encouragement, and for your financial contributions.  Both Cheyanne and Eric are thankful for each and every one of you being in their life.   Continue to lift these two young warriors in prayer - that is the gift that keeps on giving!

You will always find current updates and medical status here:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ericpetrus

Again, thank you for your kindness and love!  Without you and your prayers, God's love and mercy, we would not have Eric with us today.   Our prayer is always for Eric's healing, peace and strength and the ability to PAY IT FORWARD whenever the opportunities are given us.

As Cheyanne always says, value your family and loved ones.  Give them the most valuable gift of all: yourself, your time, and your love.   "Live-Laugh-Love"

This past Sat. was five weeks since Eric left us for his heavenly home. Cheyanne (wife), parents (Gail and Ken), siblings (Stephen and Ashley) and his extended Anders family and friends ache every day from the pain of missing him. Please continue to lift all of the family as they deal day by day with the grief and heartbreak.

Cheyanne is just "lost". The pain is not only emotional, but physical. We all pray for God's healing peace in her heart and mind. She was with Eric every day for the past 8 years since they met, and cared for him thru the physical and medical issues day in and day out since his battle with cancer began again almost five years ago. This is especially difficult for her now that the reality of his being gone has set in. Lift her daily in your prayers for the comfort and peace that she so badly needs at this time.

As a mother myself, please also lift Gail (and Ken) in your prayers. Regardless of age, this was their "baby". My heart aches at the very thought of losing your child.

May God Bless each and every one of you for your prayers, thoughts, and help during this stressful and sad time.

Take time to hug your children, no matter how naughty they might have been today, or that they didn't do something just as you wanted it done. Husbands, thank your wives in special ways of doing and showing that you care for them and appreciate them in your life. And lastly, wives, show and tell your husband that you love him above all other people in your lives.

"God is love, and he who abides in
love abides in God, and God abides in him" (1 Jn 4:16).

Eric's memorial service on Monday, Jan 21st was absolutely the most touching service I have ever attended. Before Eric's passing, he had asked his father, Ken if he would speak at his memorial, and SPEAK Ken did! His word's were so heart felt and so beautiful - an inspiration to all. There were moments of absolute pain in his deliverance of a message that was sent for all those that knew and loved Eric, reassurance for believers, and an invitation to non-believers to join the family of Christ.

"The LORD giveth, and the LORD taketh!" Our Heavenly father had given us Eric for a period of time that was truly a gift...and in Eric's battle with the "C" disease, God had taken Eric HOME to be with him...free of disease, free of pain and suffering, to relish in his Eternal home in Heaven.

Some of our days will be so sad without our loved one, but we can rejoice in the fact that he is in a place far more beautiful than anything our minds could ever imagine, and at the feet of Jesus he is HEALED and WHOLE again and beaming in a perfect love.

At the conclusion of Eric's graveside service, as we walked back to the waiting family cars, in the sky (and I mean to say a sky that had not even sprinkled rain) were two lovely rainbows. How fitting, especially in view of the fact that one of the background songs to Eric's slide show of photos was "SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW"!! A sign of reassurance, love and promises of the world to come.

Thank ALL of you who have given from your heart. You have been such a blessing to Eric and Cheyanne in their journey, and now Peace to Cheyanne to assist in the costs involved in burial, etc. May God Bless and Keep You!

Love and Hugs,
Bonnie Anders (Cheyanne's Mom)

Eric Petrus earned his "Angel Wings" Sat. Jan. 19 @ 3:35 AM. He is no longer in the pain that had racked his body all these years of cancer, transplants, and treatments. Please continue to support Cheyanne in prayers and your offerings as she enters some of the saddest days of her life.

Blessings to all of you who have lifted them in prayer these years, and PLEASE continue to lift Cheyanne in this new chapter of her life.

If you want to help this amazing couple, please donate to them through this fund. As you can see (because the amount can't be reset) two years ago they raised over 5,000$, we would love to help them raise more! Live~Laugh~Love

To all of you who have given, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! You cannot believe the stress that this will ease for Cheyanne as she and Eric face this new chapter in their young lives.
