Mayumi 's Hope, Spinal Muscular Atrophy SMA Type 1

My name is Ferdinand Corpuz from Parkville,  Maryland and I am raising money so I can pay  medical bills and equipment for my baby daughter, Mayumi Corpuz, who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1. This is the number 1 genetic killer of infants up to 2yrs, high risk of SIDS, and high mortality rate up to 4 yrs old.   There is no cure for the disease but there is treatment, Spinraza, the most expensive drug in the world so far. 92% of infants die with SMA type 1. Spinraza helps my daughter to be one of the remaining 8% who survive. 

SMA is a living nightmare for any parent and their children. Even if she survives, she might not be able to move her limbs and neck, lose ability to swallow or breathe. I will use the funds to help pay for her medical bills which include neurologists, physical therapist,  occupational therapist, pulmonologist, oral and speech therapist, nutritionist, gastrointerologist, and so forth. I will also use the fund to pay for her palliative care team which will improve her quality of life, and lastly hospice care team. Whatever is left of this fundraising campaign (if any) will go to her funeral and support for other SMA type 1 babies.

Mayumi almost died a month ago due the partially collapsed lung from a simple cold. One month in PICU is already above the campaign goals and it does not include the bills mentioned above. We need your help. You are Mayumi's hope. You are our hope.
