Maureen's Medical Expenses

This is my best friend Maureen. Anyone who has spent any time with Maureen or is friends with her knows she is one of the best friends a girl can have! She's there for you no matter what, no questions asked. She's been there for me more times than I can count and now I will be here for her. Most of you know by now that Maureen was diagnosed with breast cancer with lymph node involvement in July. She quickly began fertility treatment to harvest her eggs, none of which was covered by insurance. No one wants the ability to have children ripped out from under them. She got her port placed on August 9th and will begin a chemotherapy regimen in a couple of weeks followed by surgery which will span an approximate 8 month period. Other expenses will be accumulate over the coming months.

Maureen plans to continue to work in her job in the Pediatric ICU as a nurse as much as she is able. Not only is Maureen a great nurse but she does so many other things for people. She has participated in a program the last few years called Christmas Morning with Santa, a program in which funds are raised and presents are bought for all children in the hospital on Christmas morning. Most recently, she went on a mission trip with Austin Smiles to El Salvador in which free surgical treatment and care is provided to children with cleft lips/palates. 

All proceeds raised will go to Maureen to help pay for medical and/or living expenses while she receives treatment. I will be forever grateful to those who donate or even consider a donation.
