Conservation Research in Transylvania
Donation protected
I am studying Ecology and Conservation Biology at the University of Leeds and this page is to help fundraise for my summer volunteer work as a research assistant with Operation Wallacea in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania.
During the expedition, my team and I will not only work among experts in the field but also work closely with the local community to conduct research through surveying butterfly, bird and mammals communities (including bears and wolves).
The project is based in an area of outstanding natural beauty that represents how most of Europe looked prior to the intensification of agriculture, when there was no fertiliser, herbicide or insecticide use.
£2,350 covers the costs owed to Operation Wallacea - on top of this I will be doing other fundraising for equipment and travel funds.
