Starving Artist Support

My mom's first love was art, and then came family. Help us give back in her honor. Just a few dollars will truly help support a starving artist.

Marilyn Hall Stout was an international artist, professional mom and semi-pro grandma. She loved her children and grandchildren almost as much as her career of painting. Her medium of choice was either watercolor or acrylics on canvas. She was lucky enough to find her true calling in life, her passion at a very young age of 3. She truly did paint her way through life.

She was an adventurer. She traveled across the world to capture the perfect picture to paint. Our home was a never-ending-always-revolving art studio. The walls that lined our hallways and shelves on our walls were her museum. When one project sold, she was already working on its replacement.

Her work truly was impeccable. When you do commission work for the President of Indonesia, you've got to be good.

About a year ago, my mother decided to get back into ceramics and joined the ceramic classes at the Henderson Multigenerational Center. Every Wednesday and Saturday she would leave the house and, as she put it, "play in the mud". While religiously attending these classes she fell into another love, the love of the ladies that surrounded her and the creativity that always filled the room. She used to say that in this class, she could be free of all restrictions "the outside world" placed on her.

There aren't enough words to describe my mother. Those who met her never forgot her. Those who saw her work or met her family, wanted to meet her. All in all, this wonderful woman made an impact on so many lives. She motivated everyone to "live life to the fullest" just like she did.

Help us give back in her honor. All proceeds here will be used to support those truly "Starving Artists" of the Henderson Multigenerational Community. They will also be used to possibly create a plaque in her honor on the campus.

Thanks for your support.
