Dear Friends and Family,
I am pleading for your donations in helping my nanny, Sonya, raise money to help with the expensive medical treatment for her granddaughter Malika. Sonya has taken care of my children for 3 years, and has become part of our family. She is the most dedicated and hard working woman I have ever met. To say her life has been filled with challenges is an understatement. Her son, and the father or Malika, drowned 5 years ago. Leaving his wife a widow, Malika without a father, and the financial burden on Sonya. She is now faced with a tragic situation. Her granddaughter, Malika was diagnosed with ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura) disorder. Malika has frequent episodes from this illness which requires hospitalization; thus making it costly. This is a disease that does not allow for blood to clot. Making her at risk to bleed to death from something as simple as a nosebleed or a cut. This disease could be manageable with the appropriate medication. Unfortunately, medicine in her native country of Tadzhikistan is very expensive. She saves all her money and sends it to Tadzhikistan to help with the expenses. I know that some of you have had the pleasure of being in my home and know how warm and loving Sonya is to my family and yours. I hope with just a little bit of generosity we all can make a difference in this little girl's life.
