Make airline travel safe for pets

Donation protected

First off I want to thank you so much for all the love and support I've received in the last few weeks in finding Justice for Jacob. The overwhelming amount of heart felt comments and messages I've received has showed me that my best buddy Jacob was meant for so much more in this life than the short seven years we had together. I'm heartbroken that I've lost him and that will never change, but I've also found true passion in his unconditional love and happiness.

The airline originally reached out two weeks later to refund Jacob's expenses and
agreed to work with me to make changes in their PetSafe program, focusing on training and safety of our beloved pets. However, they now want me to sign a form dismissing them from the case, allowing no further action to be taken, and above all agreeing that they are not liable for this terrible tragedy. I will not be signing this document, as I want my voice to continue being heard and see real changes happen.

I've also done research on the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Pets are considered carry-on baggage, unless they are service animals. Therefore, if they can not fit in a crate under the seat in front of you, they must be loaded as cargo. This is such a shame, considering hundreds of thousands of us dog lovers may even say we love our pups more than most people. Although most pups travel in cargo safe and sound, from Jan 2016- Oct 2016, 23 pets were killed in the cargo of an airplane. That's 23 heartbroken families who lost their very best friend, and that is a number I cannot bare to see. I am working to start a petition for the FAA in hopes to change this law that has been in place since 1996, giving airlines an option to allow pet friendly seating.

My goal now is to become an avid supporter in the efforts to improve aviation safety and protocol for our pets. I'd like to start a non-profit foundation to help make these changes and ensure longevity in the safety and health of our pets who need to travel.
Setting up an organization such as this requires a lot of legal work, so I am reaching out to my supporters so together we can make this happen.

Thank you so much and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
