You can make the difference in the life of a child.
Since 1994 Mahogany Youth Corporation (MYC) has fished with 1000s of children. The founder, Robert O’Bryant was a drug counselor for 22 years. He worked with juvenile offenders in the prison system and wanted to intervene in the kid’s life before they were caught up with the system. Mr. O’Bryant saw that there were many children in the inner city that had never been fishing.

Mr O'Bryant realized that fishing was a way to get the kids involved. Then he discovered that children that were fishing with us were staying out of trouble because they had a positive outlet for their energy. This is where you can help these youth to do something positive with their lives.
Our mission is to empower youth and expand their possibilities. You can help introduce them to sports fishing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and safe boating through teaching them to fish and enjoy the outdoors. You are giving them an opportunity to develop skills and enhance their self-esteem. And you can help to provide exceptional experiences for youth, teaching life skills to stay off drugs, in school and out of gangs.
The money that we raise on this site will be used for our Spring Break fishing, snorkel and scuba diving trip. This will pay for the food, gas and equipment for 15 kids to spend 3 days in the water. Many of our youth would not leave an eight block radius without your donation.
We are grateful for each of you. This truly makes a imact on South Florida. When you take the time and make the effort to donate you know that you are making a positive change in these kid's lives. Your donation matters. You gift goes to support a proven program that has been in existence for over 20 years.
We have fished with over 2000 youth annually. Imagine for a moment 1,500 young divers in the water replanting the coral, sponges and cleaning up the environment. That is the goal. Real conservation efforts that can improve the ecosystem. All under the scientific direction of our partners at University of Florida and University of Miami.
