I served three deployments with the "Warriors".  The bonds we shared as Soldiers continues to this day. This book project will showcase their stories and pay honor and respect to the Soldiers, family members, and Afghans -- those made the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve. This is OUR story.



The Soldiers of the United States Army's 1-4 Infantry Regiment ("Warriors") served nearly 7 continuous years of combat deployments in Afghanistan. Their continuous presence impacted not only the Soldiers, but also their families and the Afghan people. Few people have had the opportunity to hear their stories.            Until now.

Experience some of the aspects of war from first-hand accounts. This isn't the war you watched on TV or read about in papers or magazines. The book features multiple direct sources of information and showcases the "Warriors" and their stories, photographs, interviews, and more for the first time to the public.


I began this book project began in mid-2016 and I plan slated to print and in Spring 2018. I served 3 combat tours with the "Warriors" and as the years have come and gone, a public way of recognition, healing, and rememberance have long been absent.    Until now.

Both readers and veterans benefit from this book coming to life and being shared with the public. The book opens dialogue between the veterans and the public. For the veterans, the writing process provides an outlet, while for the reader the book provides valuable understanding of modern conflict. Bridging the gap between civilian and military life experiences can be difficult. 

I am initially self-funding this project by myself and I would like YOUR help and support to help this book reach as far and wide as possible. I am grateful to everyone who has taken the time to read about this project and I hope to be able to share it with YOU!

This isn't a project about me. It is a project about those with whom I served -- the "Warriors" who answered the call when they were most needed. Now we need YOU!
